Why am I here?

Welcome to my first blog post here! If you’re wondering why you are here, you probably got here by some click of a mouse, or you might be checking this out because you know me already! However you got here, it’s nice that you visited.

Have you ever wondered ‘why am I here?’ when thinking about life, or some big question or decision? I know I have, and most likely will ponder the question again! It’s four words that can cause great anxiety and a feeling of being unsettled or unsure. Four words that if you can answer, at some level, will create change in your life, and have a ripple effect out to others.

Ultimately, to me, the answer is all about purpose. If you find your purpose, your life meaning, everything seems to become a little more bearable, a little easier. Purpose can help you get out of bed in the morning, it can help you become (and stay!) motivated, and it can lead you towards growth or change in your life.

Purpose is different for every person. For some it might be spirituality or religion, for others it might be their role, it could be your job, or a deeply held thought or desire.

For me, my purpose is about making a difference. If I can help to make a positive change for another person, then my life has had purpose. How will I try to fulfil this? Well, that will remain to be seen, but let’s say I’m working on it! As I learn, reflect, grow, and seek to be the best I can be, then who knows what might happen?

And if you haven’t found your own purpose yet, it will come. It might not be today, or even tomorrow, but one day something will just switch on in your mind, and you will know, you will just know! That’s when it all gets interesting!

Feel free to leave a comment, and until my next post, I will leave you with some wisdom from Dr Seuss:

Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!
